Lives and works in Amsterdam.

Monali Meher, Graduated B.F.A. painting, Sir J.J. School of Arts, Mumbai, 1990. In 1998 received ‘Unesco -Aschberg’ Residency in Vienna by Federal Chancellery for Arts and Science and her very first performance,’ Reflect: A personal window display’, at Jehangir art gallery in Mumbai with the statement, ‘Nothing is permanent & it’s a nature’s law’. In 2000-’01 received residency at Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten, funded by Dutch Ministry foreign Affairs & Nuffic, Huygens grant, in Amsterdam.

Her work has been published in books: Student Body by Marina Abramovic, Shifting Map, RAIN project by RABK, Third Text, “Love & Death”, Egon Schiele catalogue, Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, “Cleaning the house”, NMAC foundation, Spain, ‘rebelle’ book on Art & Feminism, 2009.

In 2006 Sep. she performed at Tate modern museum, London for Mapping Mumbai event, “Nederlands Een” group show in Gouda Museum, Netherlands, Dadao International performance festival in Beijing, China and 1st Sinop Biennale, Turkey. In 2002, 2007 & 2010 performed at National review on live art, Glasgow. In 2008 she created Interactive installation in Rijksmuseum Twenthe for Cultuurmijl & performed at Khoj Live International performance manifestation, New Delhi. In 2009 supported by Mondriaan foundation for her performance, “In Determination”, Art Dubai, participated in “The other Indian story”, at NCPA, Mumbai, Exhibition ‘Rebelle’ (Art & Feminism 1969- 2009) MMKA Museum in Arnhem. She received LIVE Fonds by funds BKVB, for site-specific project, ‘Measures & Weights’, Amsterdam.

In 2010 performed at museum-night, Oude kerk Amsterdam, showed video in a group show ‘FrictiveFamiliarities’ at Art Kino Stockholm. In 2011 participated in ArtHK11 and Prague Biennale 5th, Crossroads: India Escalate. Since year 2000, she lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
